HISTORY OF STAR CIRCLE QUEST :
Star Circle was launched 12 years ago by the ABS-CBN Talent Center, the most trusted and
largest group of talents in the country. In 1992, headed by Mr. Johnny Manahan or
much known as "Mr. M" started the talent search for the Star Circle, which aims to look
for fresh faces to be the next idol. Every year, star hopefuls came
to ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation building to audition for the Star Circle. Star Circle was the maker of
this generation's hottest and famous young super stars like Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo,
Jericho Rosales, Piolo Pascual, Angelika dela Cruz, Kristine Hermosa, John Lloyd Cruz, Bernard
Palanca, Rica Peralejo, Bea Alonzo, Dominic Ochoa, Desiree del Valle, Marvin Agustin, Angelica Panganiban,
John Prats, Jodi Sta. Maria, Carlo Aquino, Tanya Garcia, Kaye Abad, Carlos Agassi, Heart Evangelista,
Jolina Magdangal, Alessandra de Rossi,
the late Rico Yan, plus a hundred more of teen stars leading today as hottest teen idols.
After 12 years, Star Circle earned over 12 Batches and more than 120 Star Circle members. In 2003, the quest
was brought on Philippine TV as a reality talent search. October 2003 to January 2004 came as the audition
dates of over 10 thousands plus of kids and teens aspirants as the magic continues on Star Circle Quest.
On February 27 2004 celebrated the 12 years of the Star Circle plus launching the
biggest and newest reality talent search on Philippine TV, the Star Circle Quest with the Top 200 kid
& teen aspirants who passed the first audition screenings plus over a hundred talents from Star Circle
and ABS-CBN Talent Center. On March 01 2004 premieres Star Circle Quest on prime time and
much called to be the Philippine version of U.S.A's American Idol. After weeks, the questors were trimmed down to
the Final 10 or the Magic Circle of 10 kids such as Nash Aguas, Sharlene Sanpedro, CJ Navato, Aaron Junatas, Mikylla
Ramirez, KC Aboloc, Alex Ramos, Jodell Stasic, Basty Alcanses and Celine Lim, while the Magic Circle of 10
teens were Hero Angeles, Sandara Park, Roxanne Guinoo, Joross Gamboa, Melissa Ricks, Neri Naig, Errol Abalayan,
Michelle Madrigal, Joseph Bitangcol and Raphael Martinez. In May, the Final 5 was revealed and on June 05
2004, in Araneta Coliseum, declared the Grand Kid Questor - Nash Aguas and Grand Teen Questor - Hero Angeles.
Four months after, on October 11 2004, another Season for this biggest, hottest and number one Filipino talent search was launched.
Star Circle National Teen Quest conquers the whole nation, 9 regional screenings and for the first time on Philippine TV, one
U.S.A. audition. The "IN" teen questors from different regions of the Philippines, including those from America,
were brought to Manila for the battle, for over 15,000 teen aspirants who tried. Finally, 15 teen questors made
it to be IN in the magic circle. They were OJ Decena of Makati, Vanessa Grindrud of Bacolod, Raynan Pitero of Naga,
Marla Boyd of Pampanga, Bebs & KC Hollmann of Quezon, Jason Abalos of Nueva Ecija, Franz Ocampo of Cebu,
Theo Bernados of California USA, Michelle Arciaga of California USA, Janelle Manahan of Legaspi with the
Magic Circle of 5 questors, DM Sevilla of Bulacan, Charles Christianson of Davao, Paw Diaz of Laguna, Arron Villaflor
of Tarlac and the Grand Questor - Erich Gancayco of Davao as declared last January 29 2005 at the PSC Multi-purpose
Star Circle continues to seek for fresh faces and newest talents all-over the country to be the next big thing in the
industry like to those young super stars it launched.
Recently, Star Circle was launched on its new name as Star Magic. Still headed by the much called
"Mr. M" or Mr. Johnny Manahan, the master of Star Circle's talents. While Star Circle Quest was planned
to be back maybe few years from now for a new journey as the magic continues still on this biggest,
most talked about and no. 1 Filipino talent search in the globe.
